FIT AS A FIDDLE!

Veteran, Charles Raymond (62) is a seasoned cyclist.  He participated in the Heritage 100km Classic Mountain Bike Race on Saturday, 1 Feb 2020 in Mauritius.  Sporting the RE/MAX shirt, we were thrilled to see Charles come in 5th overall.

As the only competitor on an E-BIKE (with pedal assist), many people have asked questions about how this works.  It's not as easy as it sounds!  The E-BIKE offers rider assistance, but this cuts out at 26km / hour.  Thus, if like Charles,  you average a speed of 30.1km per hour over the 100km, it's clear that this outstanding result was largely attained on his 'own steam'.  With a top speed of 53km / hour, Charles is clearly a serious contender, despite the fact that organisers don't publish the results when competitors participate on E-BIKES.

Note that all the other riders in the top 4 were in the age 19-39 age category.
